eat. pray. love.

Couldn't sleep, so I decided to dig through some of my shit. Came across one of my favorite books. One of the pages was dog-eared to mark this passage:

"I have a history of making decisions quickly about men. I have always fallen in love fast and without measuring risks. I have a tendency not only to see the best in everyone, but to assume that everyone is emotionally capable of reaching his highest potential. I have fallen in love more times than I care to count with the highest potential of a man, rather than with the man himself, and then I have hung on to the relationship for a long time (sometimes far too long) waiting for the man to ascend to his own greatness. Many times in romance I have been a victim of my own optimism."

Over 3 years later and that still strikes deep. And still holds some incredible truth to it. Wondering if this is just one of life's endless lessons or if I'm just a slow learner.

I'll probably expand on this at one time or another. There are more pages marked. Might even decide to read it all over again, it really saved me the first time around.

Taking my ass to bed now tho. Here's to me (hopefully) keeping this thing going.

G'night, world.
